 As the problem was seen in production only, I cannot go back to 2.1.5 to
 compare "varnishstat -1" output.

 As for varnishlog, I can send you a direct email with some output from the
 running (2.1.4) version, but I can't add it here because it contains
 customer sensitive data. I didn't save any log from 2.1.5, I'm afraid.

 I added the munin-graphs I saved, which was the ones that most clearly
 showed problems. We had no visible changes in request rates, hit rates,
 backend traffic, and similar. But the load and swap graphs did off course
 show the problems, but I did not save them.

 That said, I to have another 2.1.5-based frontend. We don't have the same
 problems here, but the symptoms of leakage are present. I will talk with
 the customer about testing critbit and collect compareable data.
