 we seem to have got a work around for the time being...

 removing-
 if (req.request == "POST") {
 return(pipe);
 }
 sub vcl_pipe {
 set bereq.http.connection = "close";
 }

 Seems to have solved the issue for now... Was the waay I configured it
 wrong? or is this a bug with the pipe?
